SPECIAL PRAYER UPDATE

May 2009

Dear Friends,

Your prayer support was so evident when we asked you to pray for Josh – now would you please pray for our grandson William:

Grandson William: We have another prayer request, this time for our own 4 ½ year old grandson, William. He went to the medical clinic to get treatment for warts on his body. The medical provider apparently didn’t know how to use the acid, and spread it over his skin instead of putting it directly on the wart itself. It’s unclear what happened next, but the acid then spilled and splashed over his body from his ears to his knees, with the bulk of it falling on his groin. This medical provider said that this was not serious and didn’t do anything to neutralize the acid on his skin. This resulted with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his body from his ears to his knees. He has 20-25 bad burns on his body, and it will take a month or more for the burns to begin to heal. There could be a problem with scar tissue forming and life-long scaring could result. William has experienced tremendous pain from this and our son Chris and his wife are very distraught over not only the acid spill but the uncaring attitude as well.

Passing The Mantel: The meetings May 3 and 10 went well, and the congregation approved Bobby and Magalie Boyer as the next Sr. Pastor of the Chapel. We are confident that he will be a good pastor, and continue the rich history the Chapel has of being faithful to preaching the Good News. Karl’s contract ends in July and Bobby’s will begin in August. Again this year, Luke and Becca Perkins will be coming to fill the pulpit during July and we’re so grateful for the Lord’s timing with the changes at the Chapel.

We will be sending a letter out soon outlining what our new ministry will be – we are excited and yes, alittle overwhelmed at the changes ahead of us. Are we retiring??? Absolutely not!! We’re re-treading, not re-tiring!! We will still live in the house we’ve lived in for the past 10 years, and will change our back bedroom into an office for both of us to use. Our furlough is from June 23 – August 26 and we’re planning our speaking schedule, which will be included in this letter. Please be praying for us as we finalize our plans.

Thank you for praying for William also –

Blessings,

Karl and Ann
