| Wind Storm – several weeks ago we had a sudden 30 minute storm with 60+mph sustained winds and rain. Much damage was done, some people killed. One huge limb from a large tree near-by, dropped into our back yard and thankfully didn’t break through the windows.
TOMAS – is coming, is by-passing us, and now is coming due to hit Cayes in the south on Friday with 80-100 mph winds. It boggles our minds how Haiti and her people can prepare and be safe during such an event. Even our house will be swamped with water, but our house will stand, but the 1 million+ people living in tents will be in grave danger. Please pray for the Lord to intervene and move it elsewhere, sparing Haiti and her people – we’ve seen Him do that before, and are praying for His mighty power to do it again.

Cholera Epidemic – beginning in the countryside has killed over 300 people and over 4000 people have been treated. Please pray that it won’t spread any further, and that people will continue to use good hygiene habits.
Handicapped World Soccer Olympics – soccer is a passion in Haiti and young men who have lost either a leg or arm, some from the earthquake, formed a soccer team and practiced about 3 weeks on Quisqueya Chapel’s soccer field. They then went to Texas for more training, and then to Argentina for the games. Though they didn’t metal, they represented Haiti well. What a wonderful opportunity for Haiti to be represented!
Relief Funds at Work – because of your generosity we can continue to help people in various ways – re-building 2 houses, giving funds for 2 more houses, and assist a young woman to go to the university. Thank you!

Convoy of Hope’s Purpose – all over the world is to feed children who are going to school. In Haiti, before the earthquake COH was feeding 12,000 children in school every day, and after the earthquake that goal has been raised to 45,000. To date funds have been raised to obtain enough food for 40,000.
Convoy of Hope Teams – since September we have had 8 teams come, some with pastors and lay people others with corporate/business people who ‘come and see’ what COH is doing in Haiti. As we show them schools, in town and out in the countryside, they see a stark reality. In one school where the students are being fed each day, the students are bright-eyed and happy. In another school that is approved by COH to receive food but lack funds to do so, see students unresponsive and sad looking. It grips their hearts, and the reality is sobering, but so real.
COH Guest House – last spring COH established its own guesthouse, which provides a very comfortable place where teams can stay. God has provided a wonderful staff and house manager, and we are privileged to work with all of them.
Please continue to pray for Haiti and her people. Even though the earthquake happened 10 months ago, the country and people continue to struggle. So many people are still living in tents, but kids are going to school, and the international community is slowly making some progress. There is a presidential election Nov. 28 and we’re hoping for a good election.
PLEASE PRAY:
*for Tomas not to be averted
*for the ending of the cholera epidemic
*for the presidential elections Nov. 28
Thank you for ‘standing in the gap’ through prayer and financial support. helping us help others.
