GREETINGS FROM HAITI !!

October 2009 - Update

Hello everyone!

We’ve been busy settling in and becoming adjusted to a SIG Ministries lifestyle instead of a Quisqueya Chapel lifestyle.

Following are a few things we’ve been doing:

QC Appreciation Dinner – held in September was wonderful! After the morning service we were treated to a dinner for everyone, served on the grounds and under the trees – very pleasant indeed! More than 300 people were there and seeing so many people we’ve known and loved was such a blessing to us. Thank you QC!

The Bless-ees and the Bless-ors

1 Timothy 5:17
The elders who rule well are to be
considered worthy of double honor,
especially those who work hard
at preaching and teaching.

Prayer Wheel – Community Bible Chapel, Brattleboro, VT gave us a Prayer Wheel for the month of September, with each day covered in prayer by the people of the church. What a tremendous blessing it was to look at this each day and see the name of the person(s) committed to pray for us that day. Then we had the privilege to turn around and pray for them by name. Now it’s October – please keep praying for prayer moves mountains!

Pastor’s Seminar – held at Christian Light for 12 pastors is going very well. In addition to teaching spiritual truths, Karl has been showing them how to use the E-cube, a type of rubics cube with colorful pictures showing the salvation story. This evangelism tool is ideal for the people who can’t read or write to understand what Jesus has done for them. These pastors have been learning how to use the cube and next week they will be going out into the streets to present the Good News to people in the local area.

Medical Clinics – Ann has been working in a small neighborhood medical clinic 2 afternoons a week with a Haitian doctor. Dr. Maggie sees the patients and Ann takes care of the pharmacy. This ministry sponsoring the clinic have a boys home, and a girls home. Other kids, who live in very poor conditions in a ravine near-by, come twice a week for singing, games, a big bowl of rice and beans, hearing the Good News, and being able to receive good medical care, and have seen some very sick children and adults this past month.

Two Men – Pastor Joe and his friend Joe came down a week ago specifically seeking God’s direction to establish a medical clinic in a remote area without any medical care available. They stayed with us and we, along with LACC directors Bill/Dorothy Smith were able to show them several possibilities. There was one day that was especially fruitful, and they left today with some wonderful ideas to consider and pray about. It will be exciting to watch the Lord open the right doors for them to walk through.

Christian Light’s director Sherrie Fausey has dreamed of having a computer lab for the students at her school. The Lord has moved on the heart of a man from VT to bring computers and all that’s needed, so he and 3 other men are coming down in November to set it up and train the teachers. We are excited for these men to come and help Sherrie realize a dream – God is good!

All these opportunities mentioned above give us the opportunity to Stand In the Gap for these different ministry organizations. And this is just the beginning!

Clarification – the name of our new ministry is SIG Ministries – Standing in the Gap – for others, based on Ezekiel 22:30. Our mailing address is still with Quisqueya Chapel who has agreed that we can continue to receive our mail through their address, therefore we hesitate to include SIG Ministries in our signature (below) because it won’t be recognized by MFI, our mail server.

Prayer Requests:

**we are still in need of $1800. more per month, to supplement the salary Karl received from QC. Please pray this will be supplied in some way.

**for wisdom to discern who and how we should assist those who ask for our help

Again, thank you for your prayer and financial support – without either we could not be here –

                               THANK YOU!

Blessings,

Karl and Ann
